2007 Orange Award for New Writers Winner: The Lizard Cage by Karen Connelly.

Book Meme Pg161
Lovely Lotus tagged me for a Book Meme. Thanks Lotus! Here are the rules: Grab the book that is nearest to you (no cheating), turn to page 161, post the text of the fifth full sentence on the page, post the rules and tag three people.
I just finished reading "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini and that's what I grabbed for this Meme.
"She couldn't get around the unfathomable reality that Giti wasn't alive anymore".
Khaled has written a profoundly moving story and I loved reading this book. Review coming up soon!

Hi, Chitts!

Thank you for doing the meme! I have heard nothing but great things about Khalid Hosseini's new novel and I can't wait to read your thoughts on it!

I am thrilled Adichie won the "Orange Prize" for "Half of a Yellow Sun". She gave a really nice interview to the Guardian UK where she laments how the west treats Africa, always focusing on the negative and never wanting to acknowledge its middle/educated class. She is right...I shall strive in the future to read more books about Africa by African writers...i think it's only fair that they get to tell their own stories.

@Radha ~ Hopefully soon ;)
@Lotus ~ This book is on my TBR pile for way too long and I think it definitely deserves to be picked up. I am very inquisite to know more about Africa, esp from from an African writer.
