When I was at the bookclub event, the author talked about how much research she had to do for the book and it was quite an amazing work! I do agree the book talks a lot of interesting aspects of China and its culture.
It was indeed difficult to review. But, Like Always you did a fabulous job reviewing it for us!!Happy Readerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05170475118277864013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4411424946278611010.post-75914804031421276562007-09-17T06:36:00.000-07:002007-09-17T06:36:00.000-07:00Hi, Chitts! If you enjoyed "Peony in Love" you are ...Hi, Chitts!

If you enjoyed "Peony in Love" you are going to absolutely adore "Snowflower and the Secret Fan". I really liked "Peony" for all the various and obsolete details it provides on life in China in those days (the author obviously did a very thorough research).

I found it a rather difficult book to review because of the various parallel stories contained within its pages. I wrote and rewrote my impressions of the novel several times but even then I wasn't satisfied with how it turned out.

You've done a great job summarizing the story for us, thanks!Lotus Readshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02081192215823615529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4411424946278611010.post-38782050696580591102007-09-16T21:10:00.000-07:002007-09-16T21:10:00.000-07:00sounds very intersting!sounds very intersting!Radhahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17019567538933256974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4411424946278611010.post-73021396425757851332007-09-15T13:29:00.000-07:002007-09-15T13:29:00.000-07:00@stephanie ~ Thanks for stopping by! My husband is Chinese and we recently adopted our daughter from China, so love to read books about their culture.
Stephanie
www.thewrittenword.wordpress.comStephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08102400715959949421noreply@blogger.com
